This Privacy Policy explains what information GivyRewards collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what choices you have. We aim to keep this short, plain, and honest — no dark patterns, no hidden tracking, and we never sell your data.
01 Who we are
GivyRewards (the "Service," "we," "us," or "our") is a free pickup service for unwanted furniture, household goods, and office equipment, operating in the State of Washington, USA, through the website https://givyrewards.com.
Cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences
We do not collect payment information. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates unless you explicitly grant permission.
03 How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide and operate the Service (scheduling pickups, awarding loyalty points)
Verify your identity and keep your account secure
Communicate with you about pickups, account, and support requests
Send service-related notifications (pickup confirmations, status updates)
Send promotional messages — only if you opt in; you can unsubscribe at any time
Improve and troubleshoot the Service
Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
Comply with legal obligations
Enforce our Terms of Service and protect our rights
04 Sharing of information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We share information only in these limited situations:
Service providers who help us run the Service (see Section 5)
Legal compliance — when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect safety and prevent fraud
Business transfers — if we merge with or are acquired by another company, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction (you will be notified)
With your consent — when you specifically authorize us to share
Aggregated / anonymized data that cannot identify you
05 Third-party services
We use trusted third-party tools to run the Service. They process data only on our behalf and according to their own privacy policies:
Google Firebase — authentication, database, hosting, analytics
Tawk.to — live chat support
Formspree — handling of contact forms
Web hosting provider — to serve the Service
Messaging platforms — WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger links initiated by you
06 How long we keep data
Account data — while your account is active and up to 24 months after closure
Pickup records — up to 36 months for tax, legal, and quality purposes
Chat logs — up to 12 months
Analytics data — up to 26 months
Backups — overwritten on a rolling basis (typically within 90 days)
If you ask us to delete your account, we will erase your personal data within 30 days, except information we are legally required to retain.
07 Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest (Google Firebase), restricted access controls, and regular security reviews.
However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure. If we discover a data breach affecting you, we will notify you without undue delay as required by applicable law.
08 Your rights & choices
You can:
Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate information
Delete — close your account and request removal of your data
Opt out — unsubscribe from promotional messages at any time
Stop using — leave the Service whenever you choose

09 California residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) gives you specific rights:
The right to know what personal information we collect about you
The right to delete your personal information
The right to correct inaccurate personal information
The right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information
The right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights
We do not sell or share personal information
We do not sell personal information for monetary value, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is nothing to opt out of in this regard.
To exercise your CCPA rights, email givyrewards@proton.me. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf (we may verify their authority).
10 Children's privacy
GivyRewards is not directed to children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at givyrewards@proton.me and we will promptly delete it. (COPPA compliance.)
11 Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and browser local storage for these purposes:
Strictly necessary — to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and operate the Service securely
Functional — to remember your installed-app status and chat-window state
Analytics — to understand aggregate usage patterns
You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly afterward. Our Service does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because no industry standard exists; we honor opt-out requests received directly from you.
12 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" at the top, and for material changes we will notify you in-app or by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
